About mirandatrench

I'm a Panther - I'm the shadow in the shadow on the wall, reaching for the floor. Blogging is a floor. Hi. What will I find on the floors of creative writers? I'm nervous. I like to be heard, but not to be seen, which is why I wear black, I suppose... Of course, black can be fatally visible, once spotted contours are outlined. Poise. Awareness. Next step. Like with writing. Am I being naive in thinking that blogging was just about spontaneous thoughts - minimum edits - an email to a girlfriend, but on a global scale, and which has grown into the hugest pen pal extravaganza that has set many souls free! I pray it is true. I'll step back a little now, and read more clues showing which trails to follow....... Ciaow Hello, Miranda here. Symbols, as with my Panther, are evocative of many images. They are a shorthand for a wealth of meanings, allusions. I found this in Wikopedia : Symbolic anthropology (or more broadly, symbolic and interpretive anthropology) is the study of cultural symbols and how those symbols can be interpreted to better understand a particular society. It is often viewed in contrast to cultural materialism.[by whom?][citation needed]Clifford Geertz writes, "Believing, with Max Weber, that man is an animal suspended in webs of significance he himself has spun, I take culture to be those webs, and the analysis of it to be therefore not an experimental science in search of law but an interpretive one in search of meaning."[1] says it all succinctly. And followed by Jung - same source - “C,Jung: "My thesis then, is as follows: in addition to our immediate consciousness, which is of a thoroughly personal nature and which we believe to be the only empirical psyche (even if we tack on the personal unconscious as an appendix), there exists a second psychic system of a collective, universal, and impersonal nature which is identical in all individuals. This collective unconscious does not develop individually but is inherited. It consists of pre-existent forms, the archetypes, which can only become conscious secondarily and which give definite form to certain psychic contents.”[1] Such psychic contents are why I remain fascinated by astrological symbolism and relate it to people I know.

TUMBLEWEED TALENT Perhaps it is a shallow grave Wherein my talent is buried. Not deep, nor difficult to unearth But near enough to miss, dig beneath And reach the rocks of disparity believing that nothing is there, No acorn of … Continue reading

Eagles Incarnate

Tonight I’m going to venture into the realms of fantasy; of reincarnation and an alternative view of the biblical character Salome, who was a popular topic in the days of Oscar Wilde and Aubrey Beardsley.
